Bathukamma, celebrated predominantly by the women of Telangana, paints Kazipet in hues of pink, yellow, and gold. The name Bathukamma means “Goddess of Life,” and the festival is a tribute to Mother Nature. Women gather in groups to create stunning flower arrangements in circular tiers using seasonal blooms — marigolds, chrysanthemums, and lotus flowers — symbolizing prosperity and love.
As the sun sets, women sing folk songs, dance in circles, and immerse their Bathukammas in local ponds or rivers. In Kazipet, the spirit of Bathukamma extends beyond religion — it’s a celebration of unity, beauty, and gratitude for nature’s bounty. Streets come alive with laughter, music, and fragrance, turning the entire city into a floral paradise.
